Red wine was the catalyst, which sparked a national study on the benefits of red grapes. However, let’s be honest. How much benefit are you going to get from drinking excess amounts of alcohol? Drinking leads to hangovers and a hole in your liver. Alternatively, you could sit around and eat grapes or drink grape juice until you’re blue in the face and you probably won’t feel any better.
A closer analysis of the small fruit reveals that it’s not actually the grape that’s doing the work but a substance found in the grape called resveratrol, which yields the benefits. Rats were fed massive amounts of the substance and put on a high calorie diet and they lived much longer than their counterpart fat rat friends.
Anyway, I’m worried about my cholesterol, so I hope taking the pill pays off. Each pill is said to have about 700-1000 glasses of red wine, which is also equivalent to what the rats got. Although there are no known side effects of resveratrol at this time, research is ongoing worldwide prior to taking any fresh prescription or enhancement; you should check out with the doctor. Resveratrol can be taken as a supplement to help you maintain overall health and an antioxidant for anti-aging as well as strong skin.
Biotivia has dramatically increased the bioavailability of oral resveratrol Biotivia started examining machineries to progress bio accessibility of the serious Trans-resveratrol isomer one year ago in combination with a main institution of higher education pharmacy training and a huge pharmaceutical producer.

Resveratrol can help you to lead a long and healthy life so says Dr. Oz.
Red wine alone does not supply enough resveratrol to achieve the
full range of benefits. You need to take high potency resveratrol
supplements to achieve the results documented in scientific studies.
Resveratrol Supplements can also help you control your weight naturally
by increasing energy, reducing cravings, and limiting your appetite.
According to Wikipedia, Consumer Lab, an independent dietary
supplement and over the counter products evaluation organization,
published a report on 13 November 2007 on the popular resveratrol
supplements. The organization reported that there exists a wide range
in quality, dose, and price among the 13 resveratrol products
evaluated. The actual amount of resveratrol contained in the
different brands range from 2.2mg for Revatrol, which claimed to have
400mg of “Red Wine Grape Complex”, to 500mg for Biotivia.com Transmax,
which is consistent with the amount claimed on the product’s label.
Prices per 100mg of resveratrol ranged from less than $.30 for
products made by Biotivia.com, jarrow, and country life, to a high of
$45.27 for the Revatrol brand.
I have been taking Bioforte and Transmax from Biotivia for almost 1 year now and my weight has gone down (only by a few kilos because I still eat and drink the same amounts) but overall my endurance and stamina have increased by lots!
I am having a blood test next week and will have the results of my cholesterol to view since my last test 2 years ago.
I will post the results as soon as I have them.
Looking forward to a positive result!
Please let me know if anyone else has had equally positive results from these products.
Since the Dr. Sinclair study was published in Nature a flood of somewhat dubious companies have sprung up selling resveratrol. Most of the dodgy ones have some variation of resveratrol in their name and sell only one or two products. One even makes his capsules in a rented house in Florida. Consumer Lab, an independent testing authority, evaluated the major brands and found many lacking in content and quality. The ones that passed their evaluation were Biotivia, Transmax and Bioforte. A product by Life Extension Co. failed badly with only 26% of the claimed resveratrol. Another brand, Revatrol, had virtually no trans-resveratrol in its supplement. The problem with some of the ones that did pass is that they contain less than 250mg of actual resveratrol which does not conform to the studies and is very expensive on a relative mg basis. The ConsumerLab test results are available on their web site.
