How to tan your skin?

Tanning booths are now a regular method to ensure people in ‘sun poor’ countries can have that all over tan every day of the year. We should all now be aware of the dangers of too much sun (skin cancer) and a number of alternatives are showing success in the market to counteract these health issues. The latest method proving very popular (owing to its speed) is spray tanning as it only requires a single application. Whilst sun tan creams and lotions have been popular for many years, the spray system seems to give a more consistent and natural looking color.

There are now home spray tanning systems available but these may not be the easiest to use on your own although regular users they could save money in time. Whatever type of fake tan you intend to use as a regular method, there are a number of things that can help to make it last longer and improve the look. First off, you should exfoliate your skin to remove any dead skin. The last thing you want is to have dead skin dropping off and leaving lighter patches where it once was.

When that is done, it will be necessary to moisten the skin by applying a good moisturizer all over. Before applying a tanning agent, whether bottle or cream, ensure you are wearing gloves or the orange palms that will follow will give the game away. Another tip, often ignored or forgotten, is to ensure that only a light coat is applied to the backs of the hands, feet and the joints as they show up darker and let everyone know that you have used a lotion or cream. Where a spray tanning system has been used it is quite normal, once it has been applied, to use some sort of towel to wipe any excess so streaking does not occur.

Once the tanning agent (whatever type you have used) has been applied you will need to have somewhere to relax and not move while the coating dries or small smear marks might occur. The problem you will have afterwards during this drying time is what to wear because if you wear something expensive that you like, it will probably become stained and won’t come off. Obviously darker clothing is the best option so the staining will not be as visible, and if possible, something that you will not worry about if it gets damaged. With a little care there is no reason why you cannot have a golden brown skin color throughout the year whilst keeping the method you use a secret, if you just take note of the information provided here.
